What's the story all about

A wonderful, coming-of-age love story from a fresh new voice in YA fiction.

‘Miss Amelia Hayes, welcome to The Land of Dreams. I am the staff trainer. I will call you grasshopper and you will call me sensei and I will give you the good oil. Right? And just so you know, I’m open to all kinds of bribery.’

Bookversations with Jen Andrews

May I know who or what was your inspiration in writing the fourth book of Just Say Yes series: Running Away?

Jen: I didn’t really have an inspiration, per se, but when I finished Andy and Zoey’s story, I felt that I left Jeremy a bit short-changed in the love department. Everyone else was paired off throughout the first three books except for him. When I was preparing to work on book three for publishing, I decided to change up the Epilogue to include a small tidbit for Jeremy. The epilogue for book three shows his sister Zoey at a family party reminiscing a bit about how far her life had come. She gives a small run down of what everyone is doing. Her friends, family, etc. I decided then to write him his own book, so I left it with a bit of a cliffhanger for him, as in “where did he go and what’s he doing?”

Did you experience the same kind of thing Teagan/Jeremy has been through?

Jen: No, not at all. I’ve been married for 17 years and never had any crazy ex issues.

Can you tell us more about the cover of Running Away, and how did you come up with it as well.

Jen: To me, covers speak a thousand words. I always choose my own cover photos to represent a part in the book. With Running Away, as soon as I saw the picture, I fell in love with it. With some creativity from my cover artist, she removed the flower headband the woman had been wearing originally and changed the color of the model’s hair to Teagan’s fiery red. The bad part was, I had no scene in the book that fit the cover photo! So, I wrote one in. The scene takes place where Jeremy and Teagan are on their way to meet her grandmother and they stop at the small lake. I’ll just leave it at that to avoid spoilers. Continue reading

What's the story all about

Finding herself means losing everything she knows…

An empty-nested southern woman has her life turned on its head after an encounter with a young student from halfway around the world.

~A novella inspired by true events ~

Jill Edwards is just now learning the true definition of an empty nest. With her only child deployed in Iraq and her husband always gone on business, she finds herself often alone and awfully bored. Worse, it’s getting harder and harder for Jill to relate to the other housewives of Faithville, the little Christian college town she calls home.

Every day a different body. Every day a different life. Every day in love with the same girl.

It’s all fine until the morning that A wakes up in the body of Justin and meets Justin’s girlfriend, Rhiannon. From that moment, the rules by which A has been living no longer apply. Because finally A has found someone he wants to be with—day in, day out, day after day.

What's the story all about

It’s nothing personal. You’re just part of the transaction.

Cameron Briggs always wondered what the strange birthmark on his shoulder meant. For his entire life, it seemed he was never meant to be anything special, that is, until the day it happened. Something dormant inside of him awoke.

In the near future, birthright theft is on the rise, a vast network of dealers offering desperate buyers the chance to steal a more desirable next life. Their power and influence is absolute, with little standing in their way. However, unexpected anomalies in the process endow unique abilities to their victims who, once identified, are offered one chance – to save our world or destroy it, one Unborn child at a time.

With the truth shrouded in conspiracy, Emma Jennings, a troubled but strong-minded young agent with a defiant reputation, is determined to prove these crimes exist. But in order to accomplish her goal, she’ll need to find the one victim who can turn the tide of her war.
